7. I really want to like this game and I'm sincerely not trying to be insulting with this comment but I've tried to play this twice and I find it extremely boring. What am I doing wrong? Help me. After I do the first missions in Federation space (I've tried them all out. Mining, courier, fighting, etc) I just then wander the Galaxy with no purpose. Every space station I go to has factions with missions but I have no idea what these factions represent, what they're trying to do, and why I should join them. I tried exploration and even purchased a planetary scanner. I have no purpose in this game. I really kind of enjoy the game in a way though. It's just that there's nothing to drive me. Nothing to work for. I even listen to all the galactic news desperately seeking some guidance and reason. If they actually put a little bit of story behind the factions I might actually give a damn.

10. hey big guy, its goood to actually see you, your video about unlocking the engineers and material gathering was a huge help, i was able to get into the game again and fully engineer my favourite ships of my 15 ship fleet, so thank you, i am putting the finishing touches on my corvette as we speak

11. Hi there, video editor here, just a quick advice if I may. Place yourself on the other side of the screen or mirror your camera so that you face towards the main video, this is because ppl tend to look in the direction you're facing and if you keep yourself on the right facing right the eye of the audience tends to look outside the video frame.

12. Just like how ObsidianAnt got you started in ED, you got me started in ED. I've only been playing for just over a year now but now, I absolutely love this game. I now realize how amazing this community can be and I want to thank you for convincing me to get ED. Even though I'm a late starter I've clocked over 790 hours. Fresh still I might be, I feel like I've accomplished so much.

13. I love the explorer aspect. Of the last 4 months I spent 2 months outside the bubble 5500 light years from sol.
    I have my name on several systems, planets, moons. The last two months I have been laser mining back in the bubble. However, I still can't get used to being around so many other ships again. 😆

14. My problem with Elite is the long time motivation. I mine a bit, i do some missions, got a nice Python and half a billion. But what to do now.

    I've watch many other tips and trick videos on this game and you are by far the best.
    You've helped me learn to love this game when I was struggling in the beginning. So many things to do but when you are bombarded with options it gets overwhelming.

16. ed is such a vast game for what it is and also has one of the best comunities i have ever come across as i rarely see players with the toxicity of most others out there and have made friends from pvp fights myself

19. I love the economic and trade side of the game. Something about scouring Inara.cz and comparing commodity prices and running trade missions and watching my cash go up just tickles an itch for me. Now that I have a sizable fortune I've taken up arms with the federation and its like an entirely different game. I love how it is truly an open world game, if you can think it you can almost certainly do it

22. It's an awesome game, I've only been playing for about 6 months and clocked up just over 1,000 hrs so far and your channel has been a great help with my progress. The size of the game is truly immense, 4 billion systems in the milky way really makes you appreciate the scale of space but what absolutely blows my mind is there're two trillion galaxies in the universe.

I've been playing for some time now and I'm still in love with this game…sorry that's an insult…simulation, i started with the sidewinder had various ship's including the anaconda and clipper but I now have a fully engineered krait Mk 2 and it's the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, I'm about to head out into the black maybe never to come back.

    I would be very interested to hear from you why you seem to prefer ED now.
    AFAIN NMS seems to got the most vital expansions and features added in comparison to other the space game – at least thats my understanding as someone who don't has NMS!

29. If you look into the lore most of the current earth like worlds that are used across the 3 main powers had basic sentient alien life when we got there so there are many more than the 3 races we know of today!

30. I feel like the ships will need to be made bigger when we get space legs …. like I am a new CMDR and I only just purchased a Conda and have been grinding up a billion cheddar for a Cutter … but as a someone said when you finally get those massive ships they feel small.
    Like my Orca feels just as big as my Conda.

    Now get yourself a flight stick, throttle, rudder pedals, Track IR for head tracking/head look, and voice attack with various voice packs of your choice for ED – for that cherry on top. And ED will be another different experience! You can thank me after that.

34. Hope you get what you are looking for in this game and that Odyssey rises up to the challenge. I've only played it for the last few weeks and although the game play is good, the graphical stuff is a real let down. The ship designs are a joke, I am sorry but I have to call it like I see it. The ships look like cheap metal toys from the 70's. Talk about a lack of innovative ship designs my God. The interior cockpit bells and whistles look like an arcade game. It is so cartoonish that maybe that is what it is ruining it for me. I love games that look as real as possible because that to me adds to the immersion and immersion is so important for me. A cartoonish looking game does not give me immersion. This game is not doing it for me. I love your passion bro, keep it up and love what you do.

36. I posted a bit ago that I was coming back to the game and I was put off by the engineering grind but now that I have a few ships finished I'm addicted to tweaking my ships to get them just how I want them. Also the money grind is way easier than it was back in the day.

38. I really, really hope we will be able to earn a full range of engineering parts for guns inside Odyssey, things look good, far from perfect but I think we are in for some decent game play… I just really hope it doesn't force me to go mine god damned nickel.

SC wants more detail than modern tech can allow, NMS focused on all the wrong things but still ended up with a playable if dull game… x4 is singleplayer and honestly somehow still more broken than ED or NMS. ED has made a LOT of wise development choices, and that is coming from someone that rags on Fdev daily. Sure, their net code shits the bed half the time you use fighters, and sure multicrew is crap, and sure exploration hasn't seen much love over the years… Yeah, engineering is fucked… But those are like, problems you have to actually love the game to really fucking care about, those can be tollerated. They never dreamed too big for their hardware, they never insisted on forcing everyone into a single instance or tried to let us build our own empires eve style, they never sacraficed the goal of a playable and fun game to try to add a feature that would sell copies, dispite their single sale price model rather than a subscription. The most half baked feature I can even think of was FCs, and that was more just a missed opportunity than a real like, problem. At the same time, they didn't go the no mans sky route, of trying to make things too easy, too simple and too arcadish to allow for larger scope elseware. They found their middle ground, massive scale with just enough detail to feel meaningful while your in it without requiring endless hours of player work and thus a huge player base, or servers that could mine enough bitcoin to settle national debts. SC might be a great game someday, but the tech simply isnt there, ED however uses tech that is well established and ties it all together to produce the experience SC wants to replicate the hard way.

42. What I've enjoyed about elite dangerous, is you can play it at any level, in whatever way you like. There are no right or wrong way's to set up your ship's. Weapons are an individual choice, wanna use flight assists? Use them if you want/need to. Yes the grind for the better upgrades is rather long, but once you've earned them and the credit's, the rewards are truly awesome.
    I can absolutely rip a federal corvette to shreads in no time these day's………. The Imperial cutter being my favourite ship of choice. This game is so underrated on consoles, grab a cheap as 💩 Hotas joystick 🕹 and its just great fun to play.
