As an animator in games I can tell you one thing: if you think you gonna take a month to create an animation, export it and call it finish, I have a surprise for you. You will never have so much time, you will test it, you will need to learn how scripts work, learn all file work system (where export what, which scripts are to what etc), learn in engine systems, debugging and sometimes you will not even open maya/mobu for days… oh and you will get every QA report that is related or not to animation and you have to check it and fix it yourself or forward it to other person.
Tiger Mom here – how does a game coder with a 2:1 degree in game coding get on the ladder with a company like BRB? Interviewed with BRB, was a strong candidate but still no job. Loyal, hard-working, committed, has honesty and integrity, is kind and thoughtful and has a great sense of humour, also good with animals! What's not to like? How on earth do other game coders get started. I love Edinburgh, my daughter and son-in-law live there, a beautiful city.
nice one
Amazing video Harvey. I would love to enroll on your workshop, it may take a little while right now (Brazillian poor money reasons), but I'm sure looking forward to it.
I'm really enjoying your content, thank you very much for it!
NO HARVEY!!! I have a video uploading with the same exact TITLE GOING UP TOMORROW Ahahaha! I focus on the "Darkside" of the animation industry though. Great video tho 😂😂
Yo, thanks for these tips, really helpful. I'm starting to see a career not so much as a skill polishing path alone, but as a self-development process.
awesome! are there any games that you're currently playing? what games made you want to work in the industry?
I finished the exams and I passed everything, now I have to do like an intership on a company, hopefully an animation company and then I'll have finished the cycle. So this video is perfect for the things that could happen in the intership, as always seems like perfect timing, Harvey.
Hi Harvey, I tried to see the site that you have in the description for your workshop and it says this:
"We couldn't find the page you were looking for"
Thanks for the great vid 😁
