This is really helpful. Thank you.
Hello, what do I need to be a junior developer. I currently understand html css, sass, bootstrap and js. What do I need to start applying for jnr software developer job
Very well explained. Thanks!
Am a newbie. I really want to learn code but dont know where to begin?
Here from Brazil, many companies place titles in junior developer positions, but wanting us to have knowledge of a senior, the worst thing is the interviews when we say we are junior and many have little or no experience yet, they totally ignore us , because they want to hire a Java Developer/senior Developer to fill this position that is said to be junior level most of the time.
Great vídeo, sorry my English
When I first watched your videos I was in IT Support Assistant. Now I'm a junior developer.
I'm 38, been working in property management for 14yrs, just finished my IT Fundamentals course and started to learn python…I feel like I'm too old to get a grasp on coding 😐 ..i need a career change as of yesterday
Very great, insightful advice.
As a software developer can you tell me important skills to learn and get job internationally .
I'm currently taking my internship in a start-up company and they are asking if any of us(interns) wants to stay with them as a junior developer trainee. I want to. But I'm afraid I'm not skilled enough or I'm too dumb. What if they expect me to know something I don't know. I'm trying to learn but I really find it hard and I often see myself in stack overflow and YouTube looking for answers. Ah I don't know why I'm saying this.
I have the passion to learn, but apparently to get the job I have to know pretty much everything because technical interviews these days throw a ton of stuff at you and if you can't produce results you get discarded because a lot of people are applying for the same junior jobs. It's not easy to get your foot in the door.
Thank you for the advice sir, I'm going for my first job abroad soon and I think I'll be considered as a Jr developer despite that in my country I have 5 years of experience. Then, it's good for me watch this kind of videos and remember "What was important to keep in mind before an interview?"
What if you don't know ANYTHING?
Do I need to know soap?
I'm afraid 😟
Thank you so much sir for this video.
It helped me a lot to be motivated.
buena pa! saludos desde mexico
Just need to know the foundation then Google everything else
Junior developer , junior software engineer. Same thing ?
Yes, you DO need to know everything. You need to be at a Mid to Senior Level with experience ( that is 4+ years experience ) with a solid understanding of OO programming. You ARE expected to be able to write code from start to finish. From backend to front. You HAVE to think javascript is just child's play. That's the impression I get now after searching for the appropriate Junior position that I should qualify for. Am I wrong? Take a look at all the job postings for junior level, they ask for 2 to 4+ years of experience with a 'solid understanding' in whatever language. When it comes to technologies, they want you to be 'proficient' in exactly all the ones they use. Think about it. A good analogy would be me giving my Ferrari keys to a 13-year old that hasn't learned to drive but understands already the basics of brake to stop and pedal to go and wheel to steer AND expect them to drive perfectly or well enough not to crash. I imagine that it takes time for a company to win the lottery with a junior who has expert skills. In reality, I'm inclined to say that it's most likely Mid to senior-level programmers that settle for Junior positions just to secure a job and that is probably a reason why us real newcomers are expected to be superman or wonder woman or walking digital tech demigods. With that being said, I disagree @ Nelson's arguments except for the passion to learn and asking questions. Nelson can you honestly tell us what your company is honestly expecting from a candidate? In truth, what is the basic job requirement for the Junior level?
I had profesor who said its better to be stupid 5 min instead of whole life, which means its better to ask, thats what he said.
mashaAllah your an inspiration fam…much love (:
I am a Junior full-satck Developer I learnt hard concepts by Myself and I prepared very well my interview and then the recruiter wanted to end the interview because I didn't answer his question about a CSS property just imagine sooo according to him I am supposed to remember every single CSS property!
ty, man
Thank you for this vid! I'm an aspiring Software Engineer. I hope I'll be successful someday, working at big tech companies.
My issue is, and most of my nervousness is coming from the fact that I understand data structures, conceptually. As well as algorithms. I understand why we would pick an array over SLL, etc etc. My problem is getting an algorithm problem and than trying to code it. I know what i need to do, I can pseduocode it no problem, but remembering slicing, or remembering the syntax to grab the diagonal of a matrix, this is where my issue lies. I can't translate my thought into code. Maybe I need more practice but it scares me staring at the coding problem screen during an interview.
What the qualification aside of curiosity? I applied on my country top tech company but they reject me without reason after trough coding algorithm tests to system design tests (i was junior dev with 1yr exp back then)
Me now
class learn{
Public static void main (String []args){
While(true){
System.out.println("keep learning");
}
}
}

What is the interview process like for a junior software engineer
I’m in this boat right now. I’m in my senior year of a CS program at my college. I know a good amount about front end development, love java, know python a bit, know c++ a bit. Have learned a little of everything but idk what to do, so I feel like I need to learn everything and anything lol. My biggest issue is leetcode. It’s just completely eating at me and making me feel dumb. I genuinely can’t solve some unless I look at solutions and that’s just demotivating. It was a breath of fresh air to watch this.
Brother, please try to make more practical tutorial with Java technologies like spring boot, spring data jpa with apis and authentication. There are rare tutorial for such technologies.
Everyone focuses on Todo apps.
Doing good, keep going man👍
I support you from Nepal 🙏
I'm inspired by this video. But u should have told us exactly what basics criteria do u look for when hiring?
always appreciate you!
I did coding to just understand coding in general. Then now to see how much of certain languages I can learn. I tried Data Analysis with Python, I'm doing the Java Developer course on http://www.codegym.cc and I'm trying Microsoft's C# tutorial. I'm also trying to see how much of an R programming for machine learning course I can do. I've also done HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP in relation to web development.
Other languages I tried were SQL, C++, C
Thanks
