Is there some kinda cord or splitter for RF to RCA cable? Trying to not use a VCR. I wanted to stream Sega Master System 2. That only has RF.

I really hope someone can help me with this, I have the Elgato video capture and I have a retron 3 hooked up to it. I'm trying to record a sega game, but the screen freezes and it won't record. I can't get past it.

In order to capture the "RF" ones, just use an analog tv tuner…

Great video! I would highly recommend using OBS over Fraps, but OBS wasn't that big back in 2016 as much as it is now.

Why is the Elgato Game Capture HD still so expensive? Even in the used market.

I think the best way to capture excellent retro footage is to have a high quality webcam record a CRT with a 120 fps camera to prevent banding, and getting a good, directly lined up shot of the CRT, using some on the fly filters to possibly sharpen up the phosphors so you get a really nice visible set of scan lines and pixel separation.

I'm from Germany and we only know scart from like the early 90s or so. It really confused me to see that Americans had whole different cables

TERRIBLE! Never tells "how to capture gameplay footage." Tells you what to use briefly but doesn't say how to do it. Click bait if there ever was on

MJR, I know this is 3 yrs old but why didn't you mention JP21 cables at all? They look just like SCART but the color data is completely different! Using these inputs on Euro TVs can damage components!

I don't know if this card is supported on MacOS, but the Startech USB3HDCAP is probably the swiss army knife of capture cards since it supports composite ALL the way up to HDMI including VGA and DVI, and it's under $200. It's a rebrand of a Micomsoft capture device, so you can get modded drivers that use a newer Micomsoft driver which allows native 240p capture over component, which is great as someone who owns HD Retrovision cables. Although, it can be finicky so that's something you should research before picking one up. Considering the drivers for the chip inside the device (Not the card itself) has open source drivers, someone could port it to MacOS if it's not available for it, as I've seen mentioned by someone on Linux focused forums.

Suggestions on something like the elgato hd that’s more affordable with similar software? If I were to get the elgato hd, it would be used if anything
