Hollow Knight on Nintendo Switch includes all content packs released up to launch in June 2018: Hidden Dreams, The Grimm Troupe and Lifeblood.

Descend into darkness and brave the depths of a forgotten kingdom in Hollow Knight, an atmospheric and challenging 2D action-adventure for Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch. Explore the vast interconnected world of Hallownest, unravel ancient mysteries and conquer a menacing evil.

Explore a unique underground kingdom
Buried far beneath the fading town of Dirtmouth sleeps Hallownest, a once-great civilisation now fallen to rack and ruin. Explorers and thieves are drawn below the surface in search of riches, glory and answers to old secrets, but amongst these plundered halls now roam tainted creatures and bizarre beasts, corrupted by a sweet, sickly poison that seeps through the soil.

As the eponymous traveller Hollow Knight, journey deep down into the vast labyrinth of caves, corridors and ruined cities that make up this eerie, decaying dominion. Scattered throughout the soil lie towns and settlements home to a cast of weird and intriguing characters, while riddles and treasures guarded by vicious creatures await those who venture off the beaten path and investigate every creak and crevice.

Fight ferocious foes
If you’re looking to descend further into the darkness, then be prepared to defend yourself against hordes of corrupted creepy crawlies. Move nimbly to evade enemy attacks, dodge incoming projectiles, master wall jumps to claim the high ground, then take the offensive with your trusty sword and powerful abilities.

Defeated enemies will leave behind Geo – fossils that can be exchanged for new items and shortcuts – as well as a mystical energy that can revitalise your weary body or be channelled into powerful new abilities. Should you be bested in battle, a shadow of your former self will remain where you once stood – find it and defeat it to claim back your worldly riches.

Curious characters

When you grow weary of spelunking, return to the surface and venture into the peculiar town of Dirtmouth to purchase items using Geo or seek advice from the quirky townsfolk.

Ancient curios called Charms lay hidden in long-forgotten chambers, and in the possession of the weird and wonderful folk you’ll meet on your quest. Find these Charms and equip them to gain helpful abilities, such as spawning enraged insects to battle alongside you or increasing the amount of Geo dropped by felled foes.

Symphony of the knight

The surreal world of Hollow Knight is expertly brought to life with a stunning hand-drawn art style, traditional 2D animation and a captivating original score. With incredibly detailed backgrounds and otherworldly character designs, the gloomy, dream-like environments of Hallownest positively drip with atmosphere at every turn, while a pensive, melancholic soundtrack accompanies Hollow Knight on his lonesome journey.

Burrow into a cursed underground kingdom, vanquish vicious beasts and lift the curse on a crumbling insect civilisation in Hollow Knight for Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch.

Discover the surreal insect realm of Hallownest and unravel its deepest, darkest mysteries
Explore a vast underground kingdom tainted by a vicious curse and infested by bizarre beasts
Use your blade and powerful abilities to dispatch foes and uncover secret paths
Marvel at the stunning, evocative hand-drawn art style and traditional 2D animation

Only 15$ that is too cheap for a masterpiece like HK, I was willing to buy it for 60$ (but I'm happy that it is affordable for all)

Love your channel. I love hollow knight! (Although I have not got very far in it) "Yet" That & Dead cells are some of my favs. I picked up the bundle. Wish we had Hollow Knight Silk Song (I think it's on xbox) Man there's SO many games that I haven't even tried. I'm so behind.

The only thing is I was lost in my first playthrough as I had to take a long ass break and when I came back I had no idea where to go next. But it wasn't that bad I just started a new game and caught up.

    15 bucks please
    >Metroid dread 10 hour game with not even half the content of hallow knight
That will be 60 dollars please plus tax

I'm shocked value isn't 20/20. I can't think of a single game that has EVER had better value. Does a 20/20 require them to give it to you for free?

I disagree that metroidvania is an over used phrase. Its essentially its own genre. And I've only seen it used where it fits.

  18. Riz says:

This game is amazing- but if you have a capable PC, PLEASE GET IT ON THERE! The input delay on switch (~95 ms iirc) is horrible. It makes precision platforming and reacting way harder. On pc, you wont have near that much input delay given you have a competent setup. Not to mention the switch controllers arent the best for precision platforming

Does this channel never give anything 20/20 or something? Like I agree story is vague, hence not full marks there, but what was missing from gameplay, music, art, etc? And I see that value was corrected, as it should have been, but honestly arbitrarily giving 1-2 points below full marks for a category just because makes me wonder what would have been needed to actually reach full marks in those categories…

  24. Kylie says:

  25. Stewart M says:

Stop saying souls-like. It makes you sound dumb and ruins what is otherwise a good review

  26. Mizanul Hoque says:

Not sure why the algorithm decided to show me this now.. but it still was a fun watch (as always).. Felt a bit weird without the signature high-pitched “see yaaaa!!!” at the end though :p

  32. Cory Hughes says:

I dont typically watch your content but out of 20? I'm sorry but thats dumb as hell, just fucking do 1-10 scale or a 1-100 scale, 1-20 is pointless and deters me from wanting to watch and support further content, keep it simple 1-10, 1-20 doesn't make you anymore unique it just makes you look like your desperate to be different but thats a piss poor way of implementing it

  33. Moataz Seada says:
    February 3, 2022 at 4:56 am

I agree with every category score except for Gameplay and Value, they are easily 20/20

  34. kyoku1982 says:

The boss battles in this game are going to make me smash my Switch. Its not that they're unfair its just they take stupid amounts of damage and I hate being sent back to the last bench. If your going to make bosses like that at least have the decency to put a bench nearby.

  35. Calvin Bubblepants says:
    February 3, 2022 at 4:56 am

There are some fully fledged boss fights, and these are fast and exhilarating!

Does not show the mantis lords

  36. DarkEchoes says:
    February 3, 2022 at 4:56 am

Let's be honest SwitchUp… graphics should have been 20/20

  37. DarkEchoes says:

"A game of this quality doesn't come along very often"
    Or EVER

  38. semperfratdelis says:

It’s almost 4 am and I’m watching older videos. 😂 I think I’m going to put this game on the bucket list of games to play.

  39. David Townsend says:
    February 3, 2022 at 4:56 am

You say you cant block…But that is sorta incorrect. You can parry. it blocks. If an enemy swings. You can swing at same time to block an attack with your sword that would otherwise dmg you. It's actually a huge gamechanger look into it. Blew my mind (even bosses such as the hollow knight)

  40. David Townsend says:
    February 3, 2022 at 4:56 am

    Top 10 indie imo
    Hollowknight
    Wargroove
    The messenger
    Stardew valley
    Deadcells
    Ori and will of wisps
    Shovel knight
    Blasphemous
    Shinsekai into the depths
    Axiom verge

With my crappy old GTX840M GPU, i can run this game at 1080p and stable 30fps on high lmao, can't reach 50fps or 60fps without lowering the graphics (why is GPU intensive? this is a 2D game lol).
